Journey Of Hk Matrimony

Muhammad Khalid

Managing Director – MD

When life gave me lemons, at first I wanted to throw them back at life in my fury, asking for something better. But then, suddenly, I saw the opportunity of making lemonade and decided to go with lemons anyway. During my stay in UK, I assumed that this multicultural society was awe-struck by the culture of sub-continent, specially our wedding culture. The most anticipated conversation of native friends and their friends and friends of friends … with me would be of our magical weddings. People would specially reach out to me, asking for an offbeat idea to throw their wedding party; something, the like of which none of them has ever seen before. Initially, this would leave me confused as I never was interested in this all. Taking this *Gher ki murghi* equivalent to *daal*, I never learned anything interesting about it, all my life in Pakistan. And here I was, always being questioned about my knowledge and ideas on the subject. I could imagine well what it would be like to be questioned about a crime by Interpol that you are not guilty of. To hide my inconvenience and lack of knowledge, I always had to nag dear Uncle Google. Poor soul, would never leave me unanswered, never embarrassed. As I went on to discover my interests in the land of deserts, Saudi Arabia, the same questions followed me there too. But, finally by that time, I had been well-schooled by Google and a few friends and had developed an interest in “everything” about weddings. Fortunately, I was directed by life on this path where I discovered a wedding portal being worked on and this excited me to my core. My experience as marketing personnel, combined with my interests gave me an idea. Exactly! The *Wedding bells* section of the portal is what it was. We incorporated the pre-conceived ideas for the portal and the freshly born ones and Bingo. With loads of innovative ideas, we are here at your service now.

Despite my brought up in a well-to-do family, my temperament made me view life in our society a little differently, with added sensitivity. I would feel the agony and the sufferings others my age would probably laugh at. Entering the professional carrier as a journalist opened my eyes even more to the miseries of people. That was when I decided to do something for them. But what and who for? Despite a strong wish, I couldn’t definitely do it all for them all. So, years went by and I found my ears paying attention particularly to the problems of women. I would freak out in my mind hearing about domestic violence. I was also paying close heed to the issue of aging women without getting married. I was concerned about the status of people with a certain disability that would be looked down upon despite their extraordinarily abled personality. So finally, 3 years ago I decided to work on a matrimonial portal, catering to the needs of aged women, differently abled people and acid victims-to earn them their share of the long lost happiness. The motive behind this endeavor was my firm believes that there’s always someone special to make your life whole and complete, again. Continued consultation and guidance of concerned individuals finally led to what is now called HK Matrimony; to me-a coal transformed into a diamond. The portal, basically the idea, has been more diversified with added features for every single, married, young, old, divorcee, widow, acid victim and handicapped male or female in the pursuit of happiness. 3 long years might sound a big time to kick start such a thing but the motto I am working for needed proper homework done. I invite you all to help me with my pledge; Let’s Complete Each Other.
