4 Best Ideas for a Picture Perfect Nikkah

Since the past few years, a separate nikkah event has made its way into the exciting wedding celebrations, whereas earlier nikkah was part of Mehndi or Barat occasion. Nowadays, due to Covid, many weddings have been shrunk as either intimate home-based events or small outdoor parties. Many are opting for a simple home-based nikkah ceremony. However, it doesn’t need to be bland or boring!

You can obviously add some interesting things to make the occasion memorable and picture perfect, with some props, a traditional attire, statement dupatta, flowers…and more flowerssss!

1) Customized Nikkah Pens and Boxes:

When I got married 8 years ago, customized nikkah bid boxes were available, but no such thing as customized pens. Interestingly they are here now! They can make the whole nikkah signing experience aesthetically appealing and special. The pens are decorated with ribbons, gota, feathers or flowers (Whatever suits your event theme). You can also have decorated theme-based trays for garlands and presenting bid or sweets.  Amazinggg… Rightt?

2) A Traditional Attire:

The secret that makes the nikkah brides look absolutely gorgeous and ethereal is choosing an outfit that is traditional with elegant and minimal adornments. Go for neutral shades, like classy pearl, timeless white, a glowing gold or peach…or contrarily scarlet red (if the plan is to do the rukhsati on the same day). Design the outfit in a way that you can show-off at later parties/wedding post Covid! (As You don’t want to keep that piece tucked away in the closet forever). Don’t forget the simplicity factor in makeup too; try your best to keep it natural and barely-there…

A scarlet lip color can add the oomph factor anyway!

3) A Statement Dupatta:

Another factor that makes pictures appealing is a statement dupatta. This can be a vintage styled gota dupatta, your mother’s heirloom piece, or a more recent addition of customized dupattas with

‘qaboolhai’ or ‘shadimubarak’

embroidered with tilla on the borders.

4) Flower Decor:

Either the event is home-based or outdoors, bring out the purity and elegance with…what else but flowers! Again.

Whites with touches of peach and reds look absolutely beautiful in pictures

Or just stick with the color theme that compliments the bridal attire.
